On-call recruitment Ltd’s Managing Director Adrian Rawden is supporting this year’s CEO Sleepout event in Nottingham – and is pledging to match pound for pound the money he raises via the On-call JustGiving page.
The event on Thursday, October 13th – taking place at the home of the oldest Football League Club in the world, Notts County – aims to raise much needed funding for community projects run by Notts’ own Football In The Community (FITC) and Nottinghamshire Cricket Club’s Foundation (TBCT).
Having raised nearly £800,000 already, CEO Sleepout is a charity set up in 2013 to raise money to fight poverty and homelessness in the UK through company executives sleeping outdoors overnight.
With financial support coming through sponsorship from business contacts and acquaintances, the event in Nottingham already has more business professionals taking part than events combined for Northumberland, London and Durham!
Preparing to step out of his comfort zone, Adrian said: “As soon as Les Bradd at Notts got in touch with me I was in. I have always tried to give a little back to the community through what we have achieved at On-call, and this is another way in which I can do that.”
A long-suffering Notts fan himself, Adrian was optimistic about the occasion: “Hopefully the weather will behave for those of us camping out, but even if it’s not I’ll certainly have had worse times at Meadow Lane over the years! It already sounds like it’s going to be a great turnout for Nottingham though so I can’t wait to dust off the sleeping bag and get out there.”
The Magpies’ Business Development Officer and all-time greatest scorer Les Bradd said: “We believe this will offer business owners across Nottinghamshire the chance to step out of their comfort zone and raise money for several great causes.
“It also offers the unique experience of spending the night at Meadow Lane of course which obviously we know Adrian is well up for.”
If you want to sponsor Adrian, there is a JustGiving page online where you can make donations, and On-call recruitment Ltd pledge to double the fundraising efforts as soon as Adrian hits his £1,000 target.
