On-call recruitment Ltd’s Managing Director Adrian Rawden this week boosted Emmanuel House’s Christmas appeal to the tune of £1,000 – enabling the charity to provide meals and gifts to more than 100 homeless and vulnerable adults from within the city as part of it’s Gift Of Hope 2017 appeal.
Following on from last year’s successful CEO Sleepout fundraising effort, the appeal caught Adrian’s eye after hearing of the great work Emmanuel House do all year round as a result of participating in the CEO Sleepout. On-call work in the community employing people across many sectors and we feel it is important to give back to the area that we serve – especially at Christmas time when those less fortunate need the support.
Adrian said: “Christmas can be a difficult time for a lot of vulnerable people, and with the current trend in cutting funding to vital frontline services, it’s essential to support those in the community needing help – but also to recognise the great work Emmanuel House does throughout the year.
“I would urge everyone to consider supporting the great work of Emmanuel House – including supporting for those with housing, finance, drug & alcohol and mental health issues”.
On-call recruitment Ltd’s Managing Director recently visited Notts County FC as part of his fundraising campaign for the recent CEO Sleepout event at the club’s Meadow Lane stadium.
Finishing the fundraising efforts at a total of just over £3,230, Adrian was presented with a Player Layer hooded top by Notts County goalkeeper Scott Loach before dining with the club’s first team squad ahead of their league game against Cambridge United.
CEO Sleepout was set up to fight homelessness and poverty, funded with the proceeds raised by company executives sleeping outdoors for the night. Taking place at the home of the oldest Football League Club in the world, the aim was to raise much needed funding for community projects run by Notts’ own Football In The Community (FITC) and Nottinghamshire Cricket Club’s Foundation (TBCT).
Adrian thanked everyone for their support in helping to comfortably pass his fundraising total: “The response from friends, family and other local businesses has been phenomenal. It was great seeing a buzz being created on social media, seeing so many people get behind it was something I’ll never forget!
“The event as you can imagine was a real shock to the system, as I am sure it was for everyone else taking part. But the important thing is that we all set out and completed what we intended to and now we all look forward to seeing where the money goes.”
Donations can of course still be made through Adrian’s JustGiving page, or you can donate via SMS by sending ‘OCRA62’ and £1, £5 or £10 to 70070. With Adrian’s initial target of £1,000 comfortably beaten, it’s never too late to help benefit the homeless in Nottingham!

On-call recruitment Ltd have agreed a sponsorship deal with East Midlands Counties League side Radford FC for an undisclosed, club-record sum.
The first slice of investment into local football as part of the #Grassroots10k initiative means that Radford will now play their games at the On-call Arena, as well as having the company logo displayed across the team’s match shirts.
This is a sponsorship deal which allows the club to invest both in equipment, and its own staff through coaching and first aid courses.
As a former player and Captain at the club himself, On-call Managing Director Adrian Rawden was delighted as the deal was finalised: “Our Operations Director Bernie Gibbons also played there so we both shared the same enthusiasm for the project as it will enable an inner-city club of over 50 years to continue to flourish which is very much part of our ethos.”
The staff and players of part-time outfit Radford returned to training last week ahead of a new campaign which begins with a pre-season friendly at Blaby & Whetstone this Saturday. The first game at the newly dubbed On-call Arena is a friendly against Carlton Town on Saturday, July 30th.
Bob said he hopes On-call recruitment Ltd’s sponsorship is the beginning of a lasting partnership: “I think Adrian, Bernie and our own Paul have done a fine job in making this happen, and I sincerely hope both parties can benefit from this move going forward.
“What Adrian and his team have given us is a solid foundation from which we can build upon this season, in a league where competition is likely to be fierce with a number of teams already eyeing up promotion.”
You’ll be able to follow the progress of Radford FC, and the other clubs it backs through the #Grassroots10k scheme via our website and Twitter feed across the 2016/17 season. Stay tuned over the coming weeks for news of further investments that On-call recruitment Ltd will be making as we continue to give back to the wider community.
On-call recruitment Ltd’s Managing Director Adrian Rawden is supporting this year’s CEO Sleepout event in Nottingham – and is pledging to match pound for pound the money he raises via the On-call JustGiving page.
The event on Thursday, October 13th – taking place at the home of the oldest Football League Club in the world, Notts County – aims to raise much needed funding for community projects run by Notts’ own Football In The Community (FITC) and Nottinghamshire Cricket Club’s Foundation (TBCT).
Having raised nearly £800,000 already, CEO Sleepout is a charity set up in 2013 to raise money to fight poverty and homelessness in the UK through company executives sleeping outdoors overnight.
With financial support coming through sponsorship from business contacts and acquaintances, the event in Nottingham already has more business professionals taking part than events combined for Northumberland, London and Durham!
Preparing to step out of his comfort zone, Adrian said: “As soon as Les Bradd at Notts got in touch with me I was in. I have always tried to give a little back to the community through what we have achieved at On-call, and this is another way in which I can do that.”
A long-suffering Notts fan himself, Adrian was optimistic about the occasion: “Hopefully the weather will behave for those of us camping out, but even if it’s not I’ll certainly have had worse times at Meadow Lane over the years! It already sounds like it’s going to be a great turnout for Nottingham though so I can’t wait to dust off the sleeping bag and get out there.”
The Magpies’ Business Development Officer and all-time greatest scorer Les Bradd said: “We believe this will offer business owners across Nottinghamshire the chance to step out of their comfort zone and raise money for several great causes.
“It also offers the unique experience of spending the night at Meadow Lane of course which obviously we know Adrian is well up for.”
If you want to sponsor Adrian, there is a JustGiving page online where you can make donations, and On-call recruitment Ltd pledge to double the fundraising efforts as soon as Adrian hits his £1,000 target.
As part of it’s Tenth Birthday celebrations, On-call recruitment Ltd is delighted to announce it is taking nominations from Nottinghamshire’s football teams for a slice of a £10,000 investment in grassroots football.
The #Grassroots10k initiative for the local footballing community aims to provide the County’s clubs an end of season shot in the arm when they’re most likely to be winding down for the Summer months ahead of their busy pre-season preparations.
Managing Director Adrian Rawden said: “It’s been a big year for Nottingham with it being named the first ever City Of Football in the UK, so I thought it would be nice for On-call to do it’s part to help build a legacy for clubs desperately in need of financial support.
“Ultimately our bigger clubs haven’t delivered this season so it’s important for us to make sure the next generation of local talent do not lose interest in the beautiful game!”
We’re encouraging parents, coaches, managers, even players to get in touch with us for their suggestions of where their clubs need investment the most. We’ve already had requests for kit sponsorship to cover the cost of new kits, but this scheme isn’t limited to just that.
Maybe your ground needs a defibrillator? Does your club house need a new lick of paint? Is your club key to the local community and is in need of assistance? These are the sorts of things On-call are looking to do to improve the facilities in Nottinghamshire at grassroots level and to create and continue a long-lasting legacy. It’s not just about writing a cheque – On-call recruitment Ltd are looking to be actively involved with your clubs and will be following each initiative’s progress every step of the way.
“We’ve sponsored a number of local teams over the years from Notts County’s youth team right through to our most recent sponsorship of Arnold Town Ladies. We’re already in talks to sponsor a number of other sides too, but I think it would be nice for us to go that little bit further and help out our local footballing communities” said Adrian.
“The recruitment industry has been kind to me over the years, so it means a lot to me that On-call can give back to the local community as part of our ten year anniversary celebrations.”
To put forward your suggestion, send your request in an email to On-call recruitment Ltd including your name and telephone number, the team and your affiliation or position within the club, where you would like to see investment and an estimate of the costs involved. Most importantly, in your own words, the impact the funding would have on your football club, or the local community.
We aim to reply to all enquiries within one working day whilst we view the merits of the individual applications. The decision to award funding will be at the discretion of On-call recruitment Ltd and any decisions made will be final. The deadline is Friday, July 1st at noon.
All the clubs backed by the campaign will be followed closely by On-call recruitment, and featured on the company’s website and social media channels throughout the 2016/17 season.
