There was great news for the city this week as it was announced that Nottingham is the third best place in the country to work.
Employment website Glassdoor have found our city to be only behind Cambridge and runner-up Milton Keynes in it’s 20 Best UK Towns & Cities To Work In, with Nottingham finishing with the highest job satisfaction rating.
The table was put together using figures based on how easy it is to find work, the affordability of housing in each city and employee satisfaction.
Dr Andrew Chamberlain, Glassdoor’s chief economist, said: “Towns and cities such as Nottingham, Leeds and Reading offer decent salaries and job prospects combined with a lower cost of living, which means your money will go further, you can save, and still have a good quality of life.
Responding to the news, On-call recruitment Ltd’s Operations Director Bernie Gibbons was not at all surprised: “We have a lot of great companies operating out of Nottingham, many of whom we interact with regularly.
“We pride ourselves on ensuring our candidates are happy where they are because this of course increases their productivity. Our recruiters are in regular contact too with employers to ensure things are running smoothly as we know that attention to detail is important.”
